GOD OF ALL COMFORT

2 Cor. 1:4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
God is so amazing! He has taught me so much about His comfort over the years. Many years ago I went through my first experience of cancer with a loved one. I was absolutely mortified at the destruction of the body as a result of that cancer. I was certain life would never be good for my loved one again because of the mutilation. However, the ugliness of cancer served to draw that person closer to the beauty of the Father. As time went on God began restoring what the disease had tried to destroy. Today, more than 35 years later I can see how the Lord carried us all through that ugly time and brought us to a place of peace and joy. Scars are of the skin but joy is of the heart – that is a heart seeking after the love of Jesus Christ.
Today I have another very close family member going through the same experience. It is my prayer that God will somehow use me to bring this loved one to the foot of the cross each time the destruction tries to be magnified. I know the experience I endured all those years ago was equipping me for a day such as this. My prayer is for this loved one to find the resting place in Christ today and to be able to daily receive His comfort.
You are not alone. Jesus loves you and so do your brother and I! Be blessed today. You are very much on our hearts and minds!!!
JESUS LOVES YOU!

He Came To Heal

Mark 2:17 And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Too many times when I try to talk to someone about giving their lives to Christ they will respond, “first I need to get my life straight.” We will never be able to get straightened out in our own strength. We do not have the power to overcome the pull of sin without the indwelling of God the Father. When we finally surrender and ask Him for salvation then we are able to come out of the bondage of sin we have previously lived under.

We are a blessed people! God clearly states He came to heal that which was sick. In our sin sick state we are without hope. Once we accept Jesus into our heart we have the ability to become well. He came to save us from the sin of the world. Thank You Jesus!

Holy Spirit Power

Remember that we are not fighting what we can see. We are fighting the unseen but we do not have to fight alone! God is with us and as believers the Holy Spirit indwells us!!!
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
Trust God for guidance today. He wants to overcome your strongholds for you!!!

Cling To Good

Romans 12:9 Love must be without hypocrisy. Detest evil; cling to what is good.

Amazing how we want to walk with Jesus but we refuse to leave behind the things of the world. This Scripture tells us we are to cling to what is good!
This means to love God with a pure and undivided heart! No hypocrisy of any kind. Man cannot serve two masters. When you continue to walk with the world as you tell everyone of your love for Christ the truth will shine for all to see in the end. Deeds of the dark will eventually be exposed. Everyone will be able to see the actions behind the words.
Decide today which master you will serve! Remember, no hypocrisy. God desires a pure and undivided heart!

God’s Allows Us To Love Others

1 Corinthians 13:1 If I speak human or angelic languages but do not have love, I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
Do you love people? Do you show that you do? Many Christians are quick to speak of their love for the Lord yet there is little evidence in how they interact with people that are not in their circle of friends or influence. I love to watch the expression of people as I tell about my job as Chaplain of the Tom Green County Jail. After all these 18 years I forget how offensive it might be to some people. It is my life and definitely my calling from the Lord. God has given me quite a love for those who some find as less than desirable. The jail is a dirty place with many foul smells and to many times hateful people. The funny thing about jail is those who are hurting finally get tired of trying to hurt others and allow the love of Jesus to wrap them up, holding them close. I’m certain some are just playing a game but there are a large number who really do receive Christ as their Savior! The way I see it is God sent me to talk about Him to the inmates or anyone that will listen. As long as I do what He says I am blessed by Him for obedience and blessed by the ones I talk to by gaining friends daily! Looks to me like a win win situation!
JESUS LOVES YOU!

The Love of God’s People

Today has been such a blessing! It is always great to be in the house of the Lord with all of His children. I am blessed beyond anything I ever imagined through the love of Christ!
I have been fed the Word today. I have been physically hugged by the saints of God. I have my home, my mother, my children, and a man who loves the Lord first and me next. Life can’t get much better even in the midst of the pain of mourning and loss!
God has promised to always care for His children. 2 Corinthians 1:4 He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Being actively involved in a church body and belonging to Jesus is the only way I can face the days ahead. Do you know Jesus personally? Are you actively involved in a church body? Now is the time to run to the Lord!

Fellowship of Believers

Tonight I was privileged to be a part of a Ministry meeting at First Assembly of God Church. It’s always amazing to fellowship with God’s people who are liked minded and called to serve in the same type of ministry!
We heard testimony from five different men and one woman who have been in the system at one time or another. Each of them benefitted from the Word of God being spoken during their time of incarceration. The real joy is the fact that they are still walking with Christ daily. How much more proof do we need to believe that jail ministry is essential and does change lives?
I’m not yet sure of the number of people gathered together but it was better than 50. Scripture tells us we are not to forsake the assembling together in Hebrews 10:25. I believe He was right in the midst of the events of the evening since His people were faithful to be obedient! If you don’t currently attend church regularly you are missing a blessing. Pray, asking the Lord to direct you to the body of believers He wants you to be a part of. Do not delay! Blessings are waiting for you.

Christ Lives In Us!

CooperGalatians 2:20 and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Today I am very aware it is Christ who lives in me and not me who is living this life! Recent months have been very hard to walk through. There is no way it could have been accomplished without the love of Christ living in and through my family!
I feel it necessary to share some of the questions that have been asked of us regarding the passing of my beautiful, precious grandson after only 45 minutes of life.
How could a good God allow that?
Aren’t you mad?
Why did this happen to you, a servant of God?
This is just a few but I would like to share my thoughts on these questions. I must say that I cannot be mad because everything possible was done during the pregnancy by the parents and the medical profession. God may have saved Cooper Maddox Green from many horrible surgeries or a fate much worse. I guess God felt my son and daughter in law were the perfect ones to love Cooper for the short life he lived. With all of this said I will tell you I do not like the outcome or the pain we all experience daily. There is a huge void in each of our hearts. We all long to hold that perfect little man. Our hearts are literally broken by the feeling of loss. God has been with us every step of the way or I am certain we would have never made it this far! I must cling to the cross believing God will hold Cooper for us until the day we are able to hold him again. Make no mistake it is very painful! I can hardly believe the pain my children bare but I do believe God is able to see us all through!

EXISTENCE OR FULL LIFE?

Proverbs 3:1-2 My son, don’t forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commands; for they will bring you many days, a full life, and well-being.

Our very lives depend on knowing the Father and His Word! We are not able to keep His commands unless we know them. Furthermore, there is no way we could ever keep those commands unless we love the Father and want to have a relationship with Him.
Personally, I desire a full life with well being for my family and myself. It seems very important to walk with the desires of Jesus guiding my daily life so I might find favor in the eyes of the Lord!
I pray today for each of us to be more devoted to learning the Word and striving to walk more like Jesus. If we will seek to love the Lord a tiny bit as much as He has loved us we will have life to the fullest!
Jesus loves you!

The Gift of God’s Grace

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

As believers we are very blessed people. It amazes me that God has granted me eternal life with Him when I have committed so many sins. I was lost in sinfulness for more years than I have walked with the Lord. I have done things that bring me shame but yet God has chosen to forgive me. My sins should have brought nothing but bad consequences but God has offered a much better way of life with Himself even when I was still in sin.
Now as a believer I choose to follow Jesus every day to the best of my ability. I long to know Jesus intimately, to serve Him daily, and to tell all I meet about Him and His love.
We serve a mighty God as believers!
Jesus loves you!
